bloggity 12

The greatest strengths of our scene were the humor added that was consistent with Adventure Time and the characterization that was also very consistent. We did also make that scene our own though, adding in our own twists was very fun and writing then showing the other person and making them laugh was very very entertaining.
The weaknesses of the scene were probably the differences of viewpoint concerning the show, Jenny and I have different opinions on how the show and all of it’s devices are presented. Given more time it probably would have been more polished.
If I could rewrite my scene I would improve mostly the dialogue.  I know, even though Jenny and I are hardcore fans, that we didn’t get all of the diction perfect for every one of the characters and that would come with more research.. Aka sitting on the couch and watching cartoons for a day or two, Ha.

Script Reflection
The script Jenny and I chose to write was two Adventure Time episodes, though originally it was only one but we had to extend it due to finishing the plot of the first episode way before our page count goal. Writing the script was actually very fun, Adventure Time is one of my favorite shows and it was very cool to be in the position of the script writer for it.
The actual sitting down and writing of the script was tough because it is hard to get the thoughts to flow at first and sitting down and writing for a half hour to an hour of my already busy day was strenuous to say the least. Learning how to type and write script was very enjoyable and even fun at times. When we first discussed the project and we were told it had to be a hundred pages my first though was “forget this, this lady is crazy”. After writing it all out though I can see where a hundred pages would be attainable, but not in the timeframe of a month.
Now after it’s done, I don’t feel like I wasted time with it, though it wasn’t how I would have rather spent that time. I really hardly went through the script frenzy work book, I just did the assignments we were told to do and I honestly don’t even remember them, so nothing was most or least helpful in that workbook, though I did like the packets you gave us earlier in the year. I learned about myself through this project too, I learned that I really don’t mind sitting and tying, when I can get around to it, for an hour or two. Jenny and I tried our hardest and made it past our original goal of fifty pages and made it to sixty eight by the time the deadline came around. I am most proud of the characterization and humor we put in the script because it was kept consistent with the humor of the actual characters of Adventure Time. I think that some of the diction for a few of the characters was off by a little bit and that probably came from the fact that there was two people writing it and we both interpret the show at least slightly differently. I would focus most of my time on my separate writings and my short stories, I feel I could take them a long way and polish them to much greater stories. Thanks for the fun half-year Mrs. B, I really enjoyed it.

Jake: Looking down and KICKING the dirt, with his hands behind his back.
"Lady I love you and I'm sorry I missed our viola practice, I was just out adventuring with Finn and V.U.P, I..."
LADY RAINICORN interrupts
Lady Rainicorn: Speaking rapidly in KOREAN and POINTING an accusing nub/hoof at JAKE.
"제이크, 뱀파이어 유니콘 페가수스 소녀와 항상 아웃, 그녀는 우리 사랑하는 사이에 온다." (Jake, you're always out with that Vampire Unicorn Pegasus girl, she's coming between us darling.)
Jake: With an astonished look on his face.
"What?!?! No way, V.U.P and I are strictly friends!"
Lady Rainicorn: Narrows her eyes and raises her voice even more.
"아, 그래? 저희 비올라 세션에 나타나지 않았을 , 당신과 그녀의 다른 하루를 보았다. 실행 마시 멜로를 통해 점프!" (Oh yeah? I saw you and HER the other day, when you didn't show up for our viola session. Running and jumping through the flowering marshmallows!)
Jake:
"Sweetheart, we were running from a horde of angry goblins!"
Lady Rainicorn: Tears begin forming around her eyes now
"난 신경 안 써, 그것은 기본적으로 같은이야!" (I don't care, it's basically the same thing!)

*She then flies away crying, leaving Jake confused and somewhat upset.*

(The scene that moves the story forward is when Finn observes VUP leaving the Nightosphere and returning to the land of Ooo. Finn sees this event and realizes that VUP is evil, and becomes conflicted and runs to Marceline for help since she knows all about the goings on in the Nightosphere.)

Finn runs to Marceline's house and enters abruptly with sweat running down his worried face.

Finn: Marceline, my life is conflicting on itself! Jake and VUP and the Nightosphere and Lady Rainicorn and!
(he's rambling and Marceline cuts him off)
Marceline: FINN! Calm down, and say it again slower this time.
Finn: (rambling quickly) OK sooooo we met this Vampire Unicorn Pegasus from the Nightosphere but I had no idea she was from the Nightosphere see she only speaks Spanish but Jake and I and her all went adventuring together. And I see now that she was kinda potentially maybe trying to manipulate us. We destroyed evil and she kinda seemed to like the powernessy stuff a little too much. Jake wouldn't believe me if I tried to tell him she was evil cause he knows I think him and Lady Rainicorn should make up!
Marceline: Calm down Finn it's okay I promise, how about you and I make a pro con list? We can figure this all out I promise Finn.

Opening Scene
The episode begins with Finn and Jake walking through the woods in the land of Ooo. Finn asks Jake about the meaning of their lives and the scene snaps to a flashback of the first television episode of Adventure Time where Finn has his bucket list written on his arm, something about slaying goblins and fighting evil. It snaps back to the present where Finn looks like he's just had an out-of-body-experience and Jake makes an intelligent comment, and turns it into a stupid comment as he always does. They see a strange, mysterious being that turns out to be a Vampire-Unicorn-Pegasus. Suddenly there is a zoom in on her heel and she trips over a small pebble in the grass. She trips and falls rolling into the trees. Finn yells "Shmowzow! Jake we gotta help!" Jake: "Eh, I'm fat." Then Finn grabs Jake's arm and they’re off into the forest to get her. The scene will then cut to a view behind them, peaking out of the bushes to see a black Vampire-Unicorn-Pegasus with cuts and scrapes all over it. Jake and Finn look at each other and Jake says in a mind-blown way "Finn that's a V.U.P, there was said to only be one in the world." Upon hearing voices the V.U.P cries out for help in Spanish “AYUDAME!”

The Big Decision
In the story line the “Big Decision” will be the one made by Jake when it turns four-o’clock (his head rings like an alarm clock changing shape). This interrupts the montage and makes Jake pause to go to the jam session he always has with Lady Rainicorn. However he decides to continue adventuring with Finn and his new buddy VUP not realizing the consequences that may occur in the future for these actions. Meanwhile Lady Rainicorn waits upon the roof in which they always jam on. She realizes after a time lapse that Jake will not be attending and she goes to see Bubblegum Princess.

The “All is Lost Moment”
Finn knows that VUP is from the Nightosphere, but he doesn’t know what to do about it. He realizes that she is pure evil and toying with Jake. She’s trying to ruin his relationship with Lady Rainicorn. Finn has tried telling Jake but hasn’t been able to because he sees how close he is to VUP. Jake might think Finn is jealous. Finn goes to Marceline and asks her what he should do. She says that it isn’t easy but he has to if he really loves his friend, even if it could hurt him. She told Finn that due to her powerful dad from the Nightosphere (The Lord of Evil) she is capable of sending VUP into the Nightosphere and to not be able to return. Finn and Marceline make a Pro Con list on Marceline’s white board (the white board has I<3LSP on it and a picture of LSP).

1) Dialog is more movie-dramatic than it is real-life. Playing with how dialog sounds and the characters expressions and who they are.
2) Use supercharged atmosphere to create higher tension in already tense situation.
3) Don't make characters like you, dialog is the way to totally nail character, you need the right words to make the right characters and build their personalities..
